sensorischer partizipativer stadtspaziergang / kontextualisierung der berlin biennale, beauftragt als berlin biennale focus tour.
der spaziergang entstand aus verwunderung darüber, wie das kuratorische team der berlin biennale die in auftrag gegebene kunst positioniert. derweil behauptet, "transformationsprozesse" zu diskutieren, während es seine ausstellungen innerhalb institutioneller schranken hält. wenn in berlin „transformationsprozesse“ verhandelt werden, ohne die transformatoren, also ostdeutsche akteur:innen und orte zu befragen, dann ist der begriff lediglich marketinginstrument. zu selten wird erkannt, dass die tilgung der ostdeutschen geschichte ein portal in die dekolonialen diskurse anbietet. hier läge wahres transformationspotential und der zugang zum verständnis von zuschreibung, narrativer hegemonie und projektion. diese themen wurden mit der internationalen teilnehmer:innengruppe diskutiert und stießen auf starke resonanz.
the walk was born out of astonishment at how the curatorial team of the berlin biennale positions the commissioned art. all the while, it claims to discuss “transformation processes” while keeping its exhibitions within institutional boundaries. if “transformation processes” are negotiated in Berlin without consulting the transformers, i.e. east german actors and places, then the term is merely a marketing tool. It is too rarely recognized that the erasure of east german history offers a portal into decolonial discourses. here lies true potential for transformation and access to understanding attribution, narrative hegemony and projection. these topics were discussed with the international group of participants and met with a strong response.
